New Climate and Health Research Coordinating Center

The CAFÉ: A New Climate and Health Research Coordinating Center

At a time when climate change is causing more frequent and severe natural disasters, as well as a range of other health impacts, it’s essential that researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders work together to better understand and address the issues at hand. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of The CAFÉ, a new climate and health research coordinating center led by the Boston University School of Public Health and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

The CAFÉ will serve as a hub for collaboration, bringing together experts from academia, industry, and government to advance research on the complex interconnections between climate change and human health. By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge-sharing, The CAFÉ aims to accelerate progress toward understanding and mitigating the health impacts of climate change.

“Our goal is to share our wisdom, expertise, and resources on a national and global scale,” says Gregory Wellenius, who is also director of BUSPH’s Center for Climate and Health. “We hope to bring people together and improve data sharing in ways that will make everyone working to translate cutting-edge research into meaningful solutions more successful and effective.” By partnering with The CAFÉ, we can work together to develop innovative solutions to the health challenges posed by climate change.
